Admission to the Master Examinations

Students of the Master program in Economics must apply for admission to the Master examination. In order to take part in the examinations of the first semester, the application must be made in the first semester of the study program in the period at the beginning of the semester specified by the Examinations Office (Dates)

If you fail to apply for admission within the announced period, exam registration and participation within the 1st exam period will not be possible. A subsequent admission date will be offered before the 2nd examination period. The exact dates can be found under Dates.

Master-Students

Please have the following documents ready for upload as PDFs:

  • original bachelor degree certificate and diploma (or a certified translation if your degree certificate is not in English or German; incl. overall grade and graduation date). Do not hand in only a master degree if you have one as the admission will solely be based on the bachelor degree.
  • a CGPA (original transcript) if your bachelor graduation was outside of Germany.
  • proof of English proficiency, at least on level B2 of the CEFR [e.g. recognized language tests (TOEFL or IELTS etc.) or equivalent proof (e.g. previous Bachelor study program in English, English language course with appropriate language level during the Bachelor study program, with reservation (please contact us): proven English proficiency during entire school education].
  • an APS certificate for all students from China (not Hong Kong, Macao, nor Taiwan), India and Vietnam.

Please do not send us any documents by post unless you are separately requested to do so by us (e.g. by e-mail).

Students with Preliminary Studies

Students with preliminary studies in Germany or abroad can find further information here.

At the latest by the specified deadline of the respective semester (see Dates) as a Pdf file with all necessary documents by e-mail to vwlpa@uni-bonn.de:

  • a completed transfer of credit application,
  • module description(s) in single PDFs, not summarized; not the complete course manual
  • a current, complete transcript of records,
  • if applicable, a clearance certificate (Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung) from your former university (Germany only) - pls. contact us in advance.

PhD Students/Students of BGSE

Students enrolled only in BGSE's PhD program who do not wish to earn a master's degree submit this completed admission form.
