A new episode of our ECONtribute economics podcast is online.

In the second of two special episodes on the Bundestag elections on February 23, host Carolin Jackermeier talks to Christian Bayer, Professor of Macroeconomics at ECONtribute at the University of Bonn, and Felix Bierbrauer, Professor of Economics at ECONtribute at the University of Cologne, about why all parties are ignoring the future of the statutory pension system, what the changeover from Hartz IV to the citizen's income has brought in economic terms and which economic reforms are really realistic.

We also look at why there is little incentive to work in the current tax and transfer system, what retirement age would be appropriate and which economic reforms are likely in the coming legislative period. In the second part of our election special, we look at work, ageing and incentives. We would be delighted to receive your support in promoting the new episode “Who will win the economic election campaign?”
