Università degli Studi di Siena

The Università degli Studi di Siena1 was founded in 1240, making it one of the oldest universities in the world. The university has about 18,000 students and thus has a great impact on the Tuscan city of Siena with its 50,000 inhabitants. For many hundreds of years, the city of Siena has rivaled Florence both politically and artistically, and its historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. The University of Siena is ranked 410th in the Tilburg Ranking.
