The Università degli Studi di Padova (University of Padua) is one of the most prestigious universities in Italy. It is located in the northeastern Italian city of Padova (Padua) and was founded in 1222. It is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Today, the university has about 65,000 students. Probably the most famous person to work at the University of Padua was Galileo Galilei, who worked there for 18 years in the Mathematics Department.
