Funding extended for ECONtribute & HCM¹

A huge success for the University of Bonn: yesterday, all six of the University of Bonn's existing Clusters of Excellence were selected for further funding in the nationwide Excellence Competition. In addition, both newly applied Bonn cluster initiatives will receive funding from the federal and state governments. This means that Bonn will be represented by a total of eight clusters in the coming funding period - more than at any other university in Germany.

The recruitment period is 13.07.2025 to 30.01.2026, during which time each tutor will hold two 90-minute tutorials per week.

Maxi Günnewig receives award for digital finance research⁵

Maxi Günnewig has been awarded the Philipp Sandner Award in Digital Finance Research from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and WM Gruppe. He received the 10,000 euro prize for his work on smart banks. The award was presented at the Crypto Assets Conference on 26 March 2025.

On Girls' Day on 3 April, organized by the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute and the Department of Economics at the University of Bonn, fourteen young schoolgirls took an exciting look at the world of research and economics.

Two BGSE Students selected for Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting 2025⁸

The 8th Lindau Nobel Meeting in Economic Sciences takes place from 26–30 August 2025 and welcomes around 20 Economics Nobel Laureates in Lindau to exchange ideas with the next generation of leading Young Scientists from all over the world. BGSE students Lina Uhe and Moritz May have been selected and will have the opportunity to join the event.
